Japan Earthquake And Tsunami

Japan witnessed the worst earthquake of the decade today when 8.9-magnitude earthquake struck its cities today that immediately triggered a tsunami containing waves as high as ten-meters. The Japanese government has announced emergency in the country and they are trying to handle the situation. The various areas of capital, Tokyo, were caught by fire following the massive quake. The killer tsunami waves hit the Sendai province which is home for at least one million people, the people there are trying to escape these waves which are sweeping through the residential areas and causing wide destruction.
The Disneyland parking lot in Tokyo has been totally submerged and the cars are floating in the water. The waves swept away many cars, one bridge and many buildings with them near Hirose-gawa River, the river flows through Sendai. There are reports that the roof of one building collapsed due to quake while a graduation ceremony was undergoing beneath this roof. The officials are trying to access the damage but they have not succeeded in yet. The army has been called that is now working along with the city officials.
It is being said that more than four million people are out of power at this time. Japanese prime minister Naoto Kan appeared on national television and paid his sympathies to the people who were suffering the disaster. He also said that many of the radioactive plants had been stopped working but no radioactive material had been leaked outside. He requested people to react calmly and asked for their help in the time of disaster.
